From May 2003 until January 2004
I worked as an Overview and Scrutiny Officer for the London Borough of Hackney. Hackney is one of the poorest boroughs in
Britain and the council was recently giving a rating of 'poor'! The team is doing its best to change that! What is Overview
and Scrutiny? Well, in a nutshell we assist councillors to look into council policies and see what could be done better. Most
recently, for example, I was running a panel looking into how to improve road safety in the borough.
