I moved into Delta Point, London E2 on 20 June 2004.  First I lived with Mikey, an australian, until February 2005, when he moved out to live with his partner.  Then I had the delight of living with a lovely New Zealand girl who made me remember every day to thank my lucky stars that I wasn't her...  (most of you will know enough about my Single White Female experience, so I'll leave it at that!).  In July 2005 Craig, an aussie guy moved in and since January 2006 I've had David and Magalie living here, to tide me over to the end of my notice period and my move on 12 March 2006.

The flat is fabulous.  On a purely material basis it is nice and new and clean and tidy with all the modcons and a secure building.

And I love its location too.  I think people who don't know East London think it's a long way from anywhere, but it's not.  I'm a 20 minute walk to Liverpool Street station and just a few minutes more to "the square mile", the heart of London's business district.  I've got the number 8 bus and the central line for transport which are ...ahem...reasonably reliable.  I'm less than 20 minutes from Oxford Circus on the tube, and of course could walk to my job in Hackney.  We're just five minutes from Brick Lane and all the curry you can eat and not far from there is Spittalfields market.  Just around the corner, literally, is the Columbia Street Flower Market on Sundays and Roman Road market's not too far either.  Eram and I have discovered Old Street for clubbing - and I can walk home from there!  Technically the area is Bethnal Green, a.k.a "little Bangladesh", although it's not far from Shoreditch (which sounds trendier!).

Pimlico, SW1
November 2003 - June 2004
From 1 November 2003 my new home was in "Zone 1".  London is divided into concentric circular zones, numbered outwards from zone 1 in the centre.  My previous flat in Rotherhithe was in zone 2, so my move was into the centre of town, to the 'City of Westminster' - the political centre of London and not too far from Victoria Station, Buckingham Palace and Hyde Park!  My flatmates here were Sian, a 26 year old Welsh teacher and Kerry, a 23 year old from Yorkshire.

Rotherhithe, SE16
May 2003 - October 2003
My first flat was with Laura, Bree and Matt in Rotherhithe where we had the landlord from hell.  But there's heaps of great gossip about him if you want to hear a funny story sometime!
